To upload flickr photos, go to flickr.com. To make it more convenient to go through the upload process, bring up the content creation page such as create a new blogi or article page, landing/capture pagei on which you will be placing the photo. Minimize the content creation page. TIP: print these instructions and follow along as you watch the video tutorial.

Step 1: Go to the search bar and enter a category or subject you would like to view, such as vitamins, flowers, exercise, etc. The photos that are available in the flickr library will come up.

Step 2: Click on a photo. The goal is to look for photos that are available in different sizes, indicated by an "all sizes" link in the upper left corner of the photo.

Step 3: Select the photo size you want, and click on the "Download link" above the photo size you chose. A small window will open.

Step 4: If you are using Firefox, select the "Save File" radio button, and click OK. If you are using Internet Explorer, select the "Save As" radio button, and click Save.

Step 5: Maximize your content page, and click on the insert/edit imagei tool in the Rich Text Editor (intermediate or advanced versions).

Step 6: An Image Properties window will open...click on browse server. Another window will open-click on browse. Make note of the image URL so you will be able to find it.

Step 7: Locate the URL of the photo you selected and double click to open it, or highlight the URL and click on the "OPEN" button.

Step 8: You will now be on a page where you will click an "UPLOAD" button which will load the photo to the page you are on.

Step 9: Click on the photo. A window will come up...select original/insert from the selections on the left.

Step 10: You will return to the Image Properties window and the photo will be visible in the preview area. Align the photo if you wish and click OK. The photo will appear in the content body area.

TIP: Your photo will be stored wherever you usually download them. If you don't have a storage area selected, images will often be sent to the recent documents area of your computer.

TIP: Download all photos to your computer using the steps above. The reason for downloading the photo to your content pages is to protect your access to the photo(s) you have used on your pages. If a photographer or artist should ever remove the photo from flickr, the photo will "disappear" from your page.By downloading photos from flickr, you automatically have permission to use the photos. When a download link is provided for a photo, you are automatically granted public access to that photo.

TIP: We host the photos you download and use on your content. To do otherwise would be hotlinking, also called bandwidth theft. Internet marketing companies such as the one you are subscribing to must pay the bandwidth fees for storage of your content, including photos and email submissions. If you link directly to a photo, you will be hotlinking.
