1). The FAT TRAP- Most American gradually gain weight because their fat is "trapped" around their bellies, and their bodies can't access it to burn for energy. Why? you ask - keep reading
2). Hunter Gatherers- Our metabolism works well for periodic eating such as our hunter-gatherer ancestors. We find food, eat and store energy as fat. Then we go without food, and release fat for energy. Unfortunately, in America, every day is a feast day! A quick stop by a fast food chain for breakfast or maybe a donut and a cup of coffee from Starbucks, lunch at another fast-food, oh dinner - I'm to tired to fix anything or I have to run the kids to practice- we'll just stop by Taco Bell. Sounds familiar. All of us have been caught in this trap and to be left with no energy at the end of the day and when we wake up it starts all over again. 3). Carbohydrates are the Key!- Carbohydrates are plant foods that digest to sugar and include vegetables, fruits, starches, grains and sweets. They differ in how many calories they contain and how fast the raise our blood sugar. Vegetables are ideal. They contain few calories and digest slowly leading to a slow rise in blood sugar. Starches, grains and sweets contain lots of calories, and digest quickly. The blood sugar spikes quickly and then crashes leading to hunger. The key to losing weight is to maintain a low and fairly even blood sugar all day long. This decreases hunger and optimizes fat burning.
4). The role of Insulin- When our blood sugar rises, the pancreas releases the hormone insulin, which allows our tissue to soak up the sugar (glucose). Insulin is a storage hormone. It allows some glucose to be stored in muscles and the liver, as well as allowing the brain to burn glucose for energy. The remaining calories are stored as FAT. Yuck! (that's the stuff that sticks in the middle, which looks like the tire - it sucks the life right out of us) The higher our glucose rises, the greater the amount of insulin is released. Abdominal fat also increases insulin levels, creating a Metabolic Syndrome. Insulin has an effect to turn the fat cells off from releasing fat.. it becomes "trapped". This is also known as an inflammation process, causing our bodies to ache in the muscle and joints. Insulin out of control leads to Obesity and Metabolic Syndrome. Metabolic Syndrome becomes another organ when our BMI (body mass index ) is greater the 25% which can lead to Diabetes, high blood pressure, high Cholesterol, constant weight gain to name a few. A syndrome that can only be stopped by this proven weight loss system.
5). How to start burning FAT- Fat is an ugly word we all hate to hear, it puts many of us in denial that we are storing fat. Ask yourself, can I fit into those old clothes, do I get tired at the end of the day? Soon you will love to see yourself burning the FAT not to be seen again. Each of the meals is perfectly protein/carb balanced which also helps blunt the rise in insulin allowing the blood sugar to stay up longer. The meals are low fat, which decreases the total calories and allows the body to release more fat, that fat that has been "trapped".
